What’s the benefit of travel? Why should you embrace it? These questions stay on the lips of many of my friends, whose pleasures in life are far away from travelling. They simply don’t get how how travelling can quickly become an addiction. For such people who are just not interested in discovering the world or who don’t care to get out of their comfort zone, travelling will stay a mystery. And I can agree with the fact that we are all different people with different hobbies. But I truly believe that this travelling thing is similar to a dish you don’t know you like until you try it. It’s enough to have a little bite of it, to fall in love with the taste forever. At least, that’s what happened to me. With every new place I visit, new questions about other places pop up in my mind. And at some point, I will want to find out the answers.
Because I keep getting questions about my travelling passion, I decided to sit down and put together a few reasons why travelling will improve your life.
1. Travelling reduces stress
No matter for how long you’ll be away, be it a week at the seaside or an impromptu city break at the end of the week, each getaway is an opportunity to forget about your daily problems for a while. There are numerous studies about therapy through travelling, that demonstrate how depression and anxiety can be healed by escaping the ordinary and discovering new places.
2. Travelling makes you discover new cultures
The discovery of new customs and cultures comes along with the idea of travelling. It will help you improve your understanding of the world we’re living in and it will make you a more emphatic person. Travelling abroad gives you the chance to see how others are living, how nature is capable of so many miracles you had no idea about until then. Through travelling you’ll understand the Earth is so much more than what you thought.
3. Travelling will teach you dreams are real
The moment you step in the airport, knowing a whole new adventure is about to begin, is a feeling hard to put into words. It simply sets you free and makes you forget about any kind of things that troubles you. Nothing in this world can shadow that special moment. The endorphins level gets high, and you’ll only think about how many new things you’re going to discover.
4. Travelling improves your English skills
Another major benefit of travelling is that it improves your English level, as English is the main international language used almost everywhere in this world. It’s true that if you don’t speak English at all, it may be a bit difficult to get around, but nothing is impossible. There are many translation apps that will help you with everything you need.
5. Memories for a life time
Last but not least, travelling is all about memories. This is the most important thing for me when it comes to new adventures. The trip will end, but the memories will stay with you forever. It’s something no-one can ever take away from you. So if you’re looking for a good reason to travel, here you have it.
Travelling surely comes with so many major benefits: unforgettable experiences, memories for a life time, a lot of knowledge about our Planet, new friends and many more. The only thing you’ll regret is the fact you didn’t book that plane ticket earlier. For me, having the chance to discover new places is the biggest investment in me as a person.
Now that we learned how travelling can improve our life, I’m curious to see what’s that reason that makes to travel and which is the most remarkable travel memory you have?
Enjoy your trips! 🥰
