Where to Eat in Marrakesh – 5 Must-Try Restaurants
1. Les Jardins du Lotus
Tucked away in a lush garden, Les Jardins du Lotus feels like a hidden oasis. It’s one of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve ever been to—the kind of place where you want to take a photo from every corner. The décor is a blend of colonial charm and Moroccan details, while the menu offers both reimagined Moroccan dishes and international options. An ideal spot for a chic and relaxed dining experience.
2. Nomad Marrakesh
This is where I had the tastiest octopus with hummus—one of the restaurant’s signature dishes—alongside roasted vegetable couscous and lemon confit chicken tajine. The menu caters to a variety of tastes, including delicious vegetarian options. Prices are quite reasonable for a tourist-favorite spot, and the overall culinary experience is unforgettable.

3. Le Bistro Arabe
Elegant and sophisticated, Le Bistro Arabe blends French refinement with Moroccan culinary tradition. Each evening, guests are welcomed with live jazz music and a carefully crafted menu. Signature dishes include foie gras with fig chutney and beef tajine with prunes and almonds. A stylish atmosphere and rich flavors make it perfect for a special dinner out.
4. La Pergola
La Pergola is a rooftop terrace located above La Maison Arabe hotel, just above Le Bistro Arabe. The menu is short but well-balanced, featuring fresh salads, classic tajines, and traditional Moroccan desserts. Prices are accessible, and the food is simply delicious. A great choice for a relaxing lunch or early dinner with a view.
5. Comptoir Darna
One of Marrakesh’s most iconic restaurants, Comptoir Darna is more than just a place to eat—it’s a full-on experience. It perfectly combines Moroccan cuisine with an impressive oriental dance show, all set in an elegant and intimate atmosphere. It was my favorite spot overall, thanks to the vibrant performance and the absolutely delicious desserts. Prices are on the higher side, but in my opinion, the overall experience is well worth it. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance via their website. If possible, book the first seating (before 10:30 PM), as the show starts around 9:00–9:30 PM. If you book the second seating (after 10:30 PM), you’ll likely miss the performance.
All of the restaurants listed above have been personally tried and tested, and the food was fantastic at each one—no exceptions. I highly recommend booking in advance, especially for dinner service, to secure your spot.
