I visited Mallorca while on vacation in Barcelona. Although my time was limited, I couldn’t see the whole island as I would have liked. Therefore, I recommend renting a car and spending at least five days exploring Mallorca’s beauty. Although there are bus lines covering most major points on the island, having a car is incredibly useful, allowing you to explore various routes without relying on public transport schedules and saving a lot of time.
As mentioned, the island has everything. From the capital Palma de Mallorca in the south, with its cathedrals, gardens, plazas, and boulevards, to Formentor in the north, which boasts one of the most beautiful beaches and the most popular viewpoint on the island, Cap de Formentor.
Though located in the Mediterranean, Mallorca is divided between sea and mountains. The north-western part of the island is dominated by the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, while the south and north-east are known for their beaches.

1. Valldemossa
Nestled in the Tramuntana mountains, Valldemossa is one of Mallorca’s most popular tourist spots. It’s the perfect place to admire the beauty of authentic mountain villages, wander through cobblestone streets, and enjoy the natural splendor.
2. Soller
Soller is considered one of the most beautiful towns in Mallorca. Attractions include the Sant Bartomeu de Sóller Cathedral, the Old Port, and the Banco de Soller building. Don’t miss a ride on the historic wooden tram to Port de Soller, costing 8€ with tickets available onboard.
3. Deia

Near Formentor Beach, Cap de Formentor and the Formentor Lighthouse are among the most visited sights in Mallorca, offering unforgettable views, especially at sunset. Note that in summer, access by car is restricted, and a shuttle service is available.
8. Alcudia
Alcudia is one of the most popular towns in Mallorca, known for its accommodation options and beaches like Playa de Alcudia and Playa de Muro.
9. Pollença
In northern Mallorca, Pollença is a charming town with picturesque streets. About 8km away is Port de Pollença, a busier tourist area known for its beach.
