1. Formentor Beach
Formentor Beach in Mallorca is the most impressive beach I’ve seen, and it’s at the top of my list of favorite beaches. Surrounded by a beautiful pine forest, the beach stretches out in a graceful crescent shape. There are only two restaurants in the area, so prices can be high. You can rent sunbeds and umbrellas, but with the nearby forest, you’ll also have natural shade. The sea is very warm in the summer months, making this beach one of the most sought-after in Mallorca.
How to Get to Formentor Beach
Formentor Beach is located at the northernmost point of the island, about 70km from Palma de Mallorca. There is no direct transport from Palma to Formentor. You need to take bus 301 to Port De Pollença, and then the shuttle 334 to Formentor. It’s advantageous to stay in Pollença and make a day trip to Formentor, as we did.
2. Port de Pollença Beach
Just below Formentor in the north of the island is Port de Pollença Beach, from where you can catch direct transport to Formentor. This large beach features a long promenade filled with shops, hotels, and restaurants. Port de Pollença is an ideal base for your vacation, offering numerous accommodation options and direct public transport to some of Mallorca’s most popular beaches.
How to Get to Port de Pollença Beach
You can reach Port de Pollença from Palma de Mallorca by taking bus 301, which takes just over an hour.

3. Playa de Alcudia
Alcudia is another ideal location for both accommodation and beaches. Alcudia Beach is 11km from Port de Pollença and is one of the largest beaches in Mallorca. This beautiful beach with fine white sand offers all the necessary facilities and numerous water activities, making it a major attraction for tourists.
How to Get to Playa de Alcudia
You can reach Alcudia directly from Palma de Mallorca by taking bus 302, which takes about an hour.

4. Playa de Muro
Playa de Muro is a must-visit for any tourist in Mallorca. Nicknamed the “Maldives of Mallorca” due to its turquoise water, fine white sand, and gentle sea entry, this 6km-long beach is divided into several sections, each offering numerous bars, terraces, and restaurants nearby. It’s also an excellent location for water sports enthusiasts.
How to Get to Playa de Muro
You can reach Playa de Muro directly from Palma de Mallorca by taking bus 302, which takes 1 hour and 20 minutes.

5. Platja d’es Trenc
Es Trenc Beach is one of the most famous in southern Mallorca. This protected area offers natural privacy since high-rise building construction is prohibited nearby. There’s only one restaurant, so bringing your own food and water for a day trip is advisable.
How to Get to Platja d’es Trenc
Es Trenc Beach is about 50km from Palma de Mallorca, with no direct transport available. You need to take bus 301 to Campos and then a taxi for the remaining 13km. Alternatively, organized excursions from Palma de Mallorca are available for around €30 on platforms like Viator or GetYourGuide.
6. Cala Millor
Located on the east side of the island, Cala Millor is one of Mallorca’s top beaches. It’s bordered by a long promenade filled with shops, bars, and restaurants and is a haven for water sports enthusiasts due to the numerous centers in the area. Cala Millor also offers a wide range of accommodation options.

You can reach Cala Millor from Palma de Mallorca by taking bus 401, a direct route that takes 1 hour and 50 minutes.

7. Cala Pi

There is no direct public transport from Palma de Mallorca to Cala Agulla. You need to take bus 401 to Manacor and then bus 411 to Cala Agulla, a journey of 2 hours and 15 minutes.

10. Playa de Illetes
Playa de Illetes is a favorite for many visitors due to its proximity to the capital. This small beach, typical of Spanish coves, offers an idyllic setting for a beach day, surrounded by rocks and lush vegetation. It is considered one of the most exclusive beaches in Mallorca.
How to Get to Playa de Illetes
You can reach Playa de Illetes from Palma de Mallorca by taking bus 4, a direct route that takes about 30 minutes.
