Seville, one of the most beautiful cities I’ve visited, truly represents the essence of Spain. It’s a place filled with charm, music, and joy, where the architecture captures the eyes of even the most discerning critics.

ToggleAs the capital of Andalusia, Seville boasts some of Spain’s most visited tourist attractions. I explored this vibrant city during a fantastic vacation through Andalusia, spending an entire day there, but I recommend dedicating at least two days to fully enjoy everything it has to offer.
Seville’s electrifying atmosphere, rich in tradition, is evident in its most popular attractions, which you must not miss!

What to See in Seville: Top Attractions
1. Royal Alcazar
The Royal Alcazar, or Real Alcazar in Spanish, is Seville’s most visited attraction. This complex of palaces and gardens is renowned for its Moorish architecture and is one of the oldest royal palaces in Europe. As a UNESCO World Heritage site, it draws countless tourists eager to explore its beauty.
You can purchase tickets for the Royal Alcazar online or at the entrance. Visits are scheduled in time slots, so if you’re on a tight schedule and want to enter at a specific time, buying tickets in advance is recommended. Allocate about 2-3 hours to fully appreciate the Alcazar.
2. Plaza de España
My personal favorite and the most impressive spot in Seville, Plaza de España, is a semi-circular square where you can fully immerse yourself in local tradition. The square is adorned with beautiful ceramic tiles representing Spanish provinces, and local artists often perform Andalusian music, adding to its charm.
This iconic location is the most photographed in Seville, so expect many visitors during the day.
3. Seville Cathedral
Seville Cathedral, or Catedral de Santa María de la Sede, is the largest Gothic cathedral in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage site. It houses the tomb of Christopher Columbus. Completed in the 16th century, it is a tribute to the Virgin Mary. Entry tickets cost €12, including access to the La Giralda tower, and can be purchased online or at the cathedral entrance.
4. Turnul La Giralda
La Giralda, the famous bell tower of Seville Cathedral, is a must-see. Standing at 104 meters, it features a blend of Andalusian architectural styles, predominantly Moorish elements. Visitors can climb to the top for a stunning panoramic view of Seville. Be prepared for long queues at the entrance due to its popularity.
5. Plaza del Cabildo
Plaza del Cabildo is a small square perfect for a leisurely visit. It hosts numerous stalls selling antiques and traditional Andalusian products. The square’s high arches make it an ideal spot for photography.
6. Plaza de Toros
One of Seville’s most interesting attractions, Plaza de Toros, is among the oldest bullfighting arenas in Spain, seating over 10,000 spectators. The adjacent museum offers insights into bullfighting history and displays torero costumes. The arena still hosts bullfights, especially during Feria de Abril and Semana Santa.
7. Setas de Sevilla (Metropol Parasol)
Setas de Sevilla, or Metropol Parasol, offers a unique panoramic view of the city from its 26-meter height. Completed in 2011, its distinctive wooden structure quickly became one of Seville’s top attractions. Visitors come here to admire the design and enjoy the breathtaking cityscape. Tickets can be purchased on the official website.
8. Avenida de la Constitucion
Connecting Seville Cathedral and Plaza Nueva, Avenida de la Constitución is the city’s most famous boulevard. Lined with historic buildings, shops, and terraces, it is a key landmark for anyone exploring Seville.
9. Santa Cruz Neighborhood
The Santa Cruz neighborhood is a tourist favorite, surrounded by historic buildings, flower-decorated balconies, traditional taverns, and souvenir shops. Close to Seville Cathedral, it’s perfect for a leisurely stroll through its labyrinthine streets and discovering local culinary delights.

Last but not least, the Triana neighborhood is one of Seville’s liveliest areas, famous for its flamenco shows and vibrant nightlife. Less touristy than other parts of the city, it offers a great opportunity to mingle with locals and experience authentic Seville.
